Built by engineers for engineers — no fluff, just accurate testing and instant quoting

Vibration Testing Lab in Andover, Hampshire

SHAKE is a UK-based vibration testing provider in Andover, Hampshire, built to make shaker testing faster, easier to book, and more accessible. Whether it’s sinusoidal, random, or resonance survey testing, SHAKE delivers accurate, cost-effective results with no delays.

We operate from the Engineering Dynamics facility — a respected centre for vibration testing and anti-vibration engineering.

While SHAKE is an independent business (founded 16th July 2025), it benefits from the proven infrastructure and legacy of Engineering Dynamics. As we establish the SHAKE brand, we’ll continue to share our partner’s trusted footprint to support early growth.

This partnership enables us to deliver a modern, streamlined service built on decades of vibration testing expertise — without compromising on technical excellence.

The SHAKERS

We’re engineers first — not just another test house. We think like our customers: technically sharp, straight-talking on cost, and focused on real outcomes — not paperwork.

SHAKE is built around that mindset: instant estimates, smart shaker matching, clear reports, and zero fluff. Just proper vibration testing, done right.

Our team brings over 20 years of hands-on experience, from consumer products to aerospace. We’ve worked both sides — running tests and booking them — so we understand the frustration of vague quotes, slow responses, and missed expectations.

That’s why we built SHAKE: to deliver the best possible experience in vibration testing, at outstanding value.

Bolting things to slip tables since I was in nappies.

A true vibrator, in every sense of the word.

Now I’m nearly 30 and a family man — so it’s back to nappies for me.

I started my career as an apprentice vibration test engineer at TUV SUD. Since then, I’ve consulted on vibration testing for the likes of EATON Aerospace, L3Harris, and SAAB — everything from field measurements, flight testing to CE compliance programmes.

Over the years, I’ve been through most of the test houses in the country, and I can tell you: SHAKE is different.

No, we don’t have shiny brochure shakers or slick sales decks.

But what we do have is a responsive, no-nonsense lab that’s built to give engineers clear answers — without the waiting around.

I designed and built SHAKE’s Equipment Compatibility Engine and instant quote estimator myself. I also run the front end and handle most of the day-to-day operations.

Our Test Equipment: LDS Shakers, Slip Tables, Controllers & Amplifiers

We operate a range of well-maintained Ling Dynamic Systems (LDS) electrodynamic shakers, low-pressure hydraulic slip tables, and matched amplifiers.

These machines support a wide variety of vibration and shock test profiles, including Sine, Random, Half-Sine Shock, Terminal Peak Shock, and Sine-on-Random. Our equipment is calibrated, versatile, and capable of delivering reliable, repeatable results across a broad spectrum of product qualification and durability testing scenarios.

LDS V826 Long-stroke

Our primary workhorse for large-scale, high-force testing

The V826 is a powerful, air-cooled vibration system rated at 26 kN. Built for long-duration test campaigns, it can operate for over 8 hours continuously (depending on thermal load and test parameters). It’s driven by an LDS DPA-16 amplifier, chosen for its low harmonic distortion and precision signal integrity.

Mounted in an LDS 900 trunnion with full rotation capability, the shaker is coupled to a 900 mm × 900 mm LDS slip table, enabling both vertical and horizontal testing in axial and lateral orientations.

LDS V726

Compact but capable – precision testing up to 3000 Hz

The V726 is our smaller air-cooled shaker system, paired with an LDS PA2000 amplifier with a system rating of up to 5 kN. Though lower in force than the V826, it excels in high-frequency applications. 3000 Hz (depending on payload and profile requirements).

The system is housed in a custom trunnion and paired with a 750 mm × 750 mm LDS slip table, with full rotational capability for vertical and horizontal axis testing.

Compact but capable – precision testing up to 4000 Hz

The V726 is our smaller air-cooled shaker system, rated to 4 kN. Though lower in force than the V826, it excels in high-frequency applications up to 3000Hz (depending on payload and profile requirements).

The system is housed in a custom trunnion system and paired with a 600 mm × 600 mm LDS slip table, with full rotational capability for vertical and horizontal axis testing.

Control System

Our shaker systems are operated using an LDS LASER USB vibration controller — with up to 8 input channels in our current configuration. It delivers high-resolution 24-bit data acquisition and real-time, closed-loop control.

To support a wide range of test requirements, we maintain a versatile selection of ICP® piezoelectric accelerometers, with sensitivities ranging from ~10 mV/g to 100 mV/g, allowing us to tune measurements for both high- and low-amplitude response.

In line with industry best practices, all vibration controllers and accelerometers are calibrated annually at an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory. This calibration schedule is integrated into the ISO 9001 quality management systems of both SHAKE and Engineering Dynamics, ensuring full traceability and quality assurance across all test programs.
